“BOAT FOLK” From The AWBF

Inside INDI during restoration

Inside INDI during restoration

When the 2021 Australian Wooden Boat Festival went the same way as so many other mass gatherings over the last 18 months, the organisers quickly made sure that the year wasn’t completely wasted and organised a Parade of Sail which took place in February this year.

You can view a short Video of the Parade on their website but following the parade, with the help of Green Sea Media they made a series of nine videos for the festival called “Boat Folk” highlighting the history and people involved with maintaining and sailing these wonderful craft. In addition to the “Boat Folk” stories they have also produced with the support of WEST SYSTEM, five short films which they are calling “The Boat Builder “series. They plan to release one video per month in the lead up to the 2023 Festival.

Have a look at the first one they have uploaded to their site… It’s about the double ender INDI and her custodian, Reuben Kent.
